Hubballi or Hubli, as it is popularly known, is the commercial centre and business hub of North Karnatakaa. It is part of the Hubli-Dharwad municipal corporation. Hubli is one of the fastest growing cities in India.

In Kannada, the name Hubli means flowering creeper. The city is popular for the Chandramouleshwara temple, dedicated to lord Shiva.
